Grayling 1/21/12
Well we made it on the snow . 1st run of the season so it was just goofing off and in no hurry kinda run . Normally I get a shakedown run around home before any northbound trips ... in December!!
So snow4 and I went to Grayling ..4mile rd truck stop.
It host a fuel/mart,lodging (super8) and a arbys ...huge spread. Ton of space for parking , perfect for a drop spot for the day run too.
Fri we rode in to grayling for our shakedown debut..figured it was good test and we were hungry
All checked out and saturdays ride was in the works . Saturdays am temp wasa brrr crispy 5 !!. the rumble of 2 bees chug to life . A good warm up , a top off we were off in the white yander. Snow covered the trees like a christmas snow , bright sunshine in the sky ..perfect day.
Had a good time , snow was great other then the normal heavy traffic areas. Stop at a trail side pit stop put on by the rosscomon/higgins lk club .. very cool guys On we went up to 72 / bluebear trail head for fuel and lunch . Played off trail alot too , found some new grounds to play in and route to the TC system.
No major mile just fun playing on the saddle .
2 new things we had to try for the 1st time this trip too . Our communicators... they work pretty decent , still need to fix the mic issue but like them for what we wanted them for ... sled .....clear between us two. Work great to eaz the mind in the twisty tights. And I also told snow4 for these where not to be used as a sex talk device nether !... she did tell me I looked sexy on my sled
My new skis ... Wow !! I likey They worked well in all conditions for me , still a little work in the POW but much better then the old ones though. I found it alot easier to side hill up a bank to get up on it . Really liked them on the trail , snow was loose and sugary to hardpak ...and ice. No darting but feels a bit heavy in the front . If I ever get a day to just dial it in I think it will just sweetn the pot ...well worth the upgrade.

no,no hair flying in the snowdust, that was good .
We didn't take to many pics this time , just focused on the sleds and learning the area a bit . By scouting out some routes , we cut a 89 mi one way trip though tight twistys into a 50-60 miler for a good day run.
89 miles of tight twisty s .. w/ moderate traffic is not going to be fun coming back on later in the day.
Now we have a way to make the run and not beat our selfs doing it ... also allows for more play time along the way too !
